International Yoga Day
Reflecting on International Yoga Day just celebrated this past weekend, I’m drawn to Śasāṁgāsanā—the Rabbit Pose—and the profound parallels between yoga and parenting.
Stillness is the foundation of Rabbit Pose—a moment to quiet the mind, center the body, and simply be. In parenting, this stillness is our anchor—the pause before reacting, the deep breath that brings us back to presence.
Flexibility teaches us to move with grace—physically, emotionally, and mentally. It’s the art of bending without breaking, whether on the mat or in the messy, beautiful journey of raising children.
Adaptability is the willingness to adjust, to find ease in the unexpected, and to meet each moment with openness. As parents, we pivot, recalibrate, and grow alongside our children, nurturing resilience in ourselves and them.
This #InternationalYogaDay, may we carry these lessons beyond the mat—into our homes, our relationships, and the way we guide the next generation with strength, wisdom and love.
